Getting started

How do I get started with HomeTrack?
Create a free account, then follow the 5-step setup wizard. It takes about 5 minutes and covers the basics — who lives in your household, what vehicles and pets you have, and when you last did key tasks. You can fill in the rest gradually over time.
Do I need to fill everything in at once?
Definitely not. HomeTrack is designed around progressive completion — fill in a little at a time and your dashboard will guide you to what's still missing. Most people have a complete profile within a month of signing up. If a field or a whole section doesn't apply to you (no pets, no trusts), mark it "Doesn't apply" and it counts as done.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet — HomeTrack is currently a web application that works on any device through your browser. A native mobile app is on our roadmap.

Security and privacy

Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. HomeTrack stores reference information — not passwords or full legal documents — which significantly reduces the risk profile compared to a password manager or document vault. Your data is stored in New Zealand.
Does HomeTrack store my passwords?
No. HomeTrack stores the email or login you use for each service — not the password. For password storage, use a dedicated password manager like 1Password or Bitwarden. HomeTrack is the reference document; your password manager is the vault.
Who can see my information?
Only you, and the people you invite to your household. HomeTrack staff do not access your household data. Secure read-only links for a trusted person are coming soon.

Features

Can I share my ICE profile with someone else?
Yes. You can export your ICE profile as a PDF to give to a trusted person (a spouse, adult child or executor) or to print and store in a safe. Secure link sharing, so they can view it online without a HomeTrack account, is coming soon.
What is the family handover plan?
It's a step-by-step plan for what your family would need to do if someone in your household died: who to call first, which banks, insurers, KiwiSaver and other providers to tell, and what has to happen in the first 48 hours, 28 days and 6 months. It's built from your ICE profile, so it stays current as your details change, and you can print it as a PDF to keep with your will. It's included in the Family plan. It's general guidance to help your family get organised, not legal or financial advice.
What reminder types does HomeTrack support?
HomeTrack supports vehicle WOF, rego, and servicing; pet vet checkups, vaccinations, and registration; health and dental checkups; property maintenance including heat pump, fireplace, and smoke alarms; and any custom reminder you add yourself. Country-specific reminders (like WOF in NZ or MOT in the UK) are set automatically based on your country.
How does the weekly email digest work?
Every Monday morning, HomeTrack sends you a personalised email showing what's due this week and coming up in the next 30 days. It also includes a seasonal maintenance tip and a nudge to complete any missing profile sections. You can't opt out of the digest — it's the core of the product — but you can manage your preferences in settings.

Billing

Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. There are no lock-in contracts. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing period. You can export your ICE profile as a PDF before or after cancelling.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation in case you change your mind. After that it is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers. We recommend exporting a PDF before cancelling.
Do you offer refunds?
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Annual subscriptions cancelled within 14 days of purchase are eligible for a full refund. Please contact us to request a refund.
